The type of personal information we collect

  • methods of payment (eg standing order, debit card, Payzone…)

  • information provided by individuals during membership onboarding process (eg areas of work or interest)

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you (via our website, emails and/or telephone calls) for one of the following reasons:

  • to process your membership, donation or support and provide you with relevant information

  • to send you, if requested, newsletters, updates about JAAG’s work, and invitations to meetings

  • to identify your areas of particular interest and the degree to which you may or may not wish to actively participate in projects

  • to discuss potential collaboration or membership

  • to have a high level view of the geographic locations of our membership

  • to carry out membership and financial administration

We also receive or have access to personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • bank account name from our bank statements. These statements constitute part of our private accounts records.

  • type of payment method (eg standing order, debit card via Payzone, etc) from payment processing companies eg Payzone/Stripe/bank statements. This information helps us monitor incoming monies and calculate associated costs etc.

  • contact details and profile information from publicly available sources such as the internet and directories, as well as from personal professional contacts. We may use such data to contact individuals about potential collaboration or membership.

We do not share this information outside the organisation unless obliged by law to do so, or if you have given express prior permission for a particular purpose.
